The art piece story:
The painting L’Amitié franco-luxembourgeoise was conceived and created by the artist Axelle Salvage in honor of the first edition of Lëtz France event on October 11th, 2025, at Vauban School in Luxembourg-city. The artwork is now in the permanent collection of the Embassy of France to Luxembourg.
This original acrylic painting celebrates the enduring friendship between Luxembourg and France through the joyful spirit of a Bird of Salvage (a characteristic figure in the artist work). The whimsical bird character wears a scarf in the colors of the French flag (blue, white, and red), while the foreground features sweeping brushstrokes in Luxembourg's national colors (red, white, and light blue). The signature heterochromatic eye and playful yellow beak bring the artist's distinctive storytelling style to life, capturing a moment of connection, warmth, and cross- cultural celebration. This piece embodies the values of friendship, unity, and shared heritage between two nations—a tribute to the French community in Luxembourg and the bonds that unite us.
In the permanent collection of the Embassy of France to Luxembourg.
