This series operates on multiple levels of evolution — the literal evolution of Pokemon characters, the cultural evolution of gaming over 25 years, and my own artistic evolution as I developed the foundation for my current character-driven storytelling approach.
The mathematical precision of featuring exactly 25 characters across the six canvases creates a deliberate symbolic connection to the celebration of the 25th anniversary of Pokemon (2021).
The series showcases deliberate scale progression, from intimate 50x70cm pieces to the monumental 200x120cm centerpiece, demonstrating growing artistic ambition. Fluorescent paints enhance key elements, creating visual impact that bridges traditional painting techniques with contemporary visual culture.
EVOLUTION (2020-2022)
DISCOVER THE 6 PIECES
Pikachu & Togepi
-
The Crisis Begins
Pikachu and Togepi find themselves trapped in an abstract world filled with strange, colorful filaments and imminent danger. Pikachu bleeds as he desperately tries to rescue his best friend Togepi from the attacking Pokéballs ridden by original antagonists called Viperias. These snake-like creatures are the artist's own creation bringing tension and unpredictability to the universe. This opening piece poses the fundamental question: What would you do to save your best friend?
Themes of bravery and courage emerge as our heroes face their first challenge in this cosmic nightmare.

The monumental finale featuring 15 characters as trainers Ash, Misty, and Brock arrive with their Pokémon companions to rescue Pikachu and Togepi. The dynamic composition includes beloved Pokémon such as Jigglypuff at the top with its microphone and determined expression, alongside Primeape bearing blood stains that suggest it may have already battled the Viperias. At the bottom, Cubone appears surrounded by fluorescent green stick lines, while Psyduck, encircled by fluorescent yellow stick lines, displays clear signs of distress — close to losing composure with anxiety. Ash wears his original outfit from the anime's earliest episodes.
Movement, action, anger, worry, and fear all emerge from this powerful scene. Enhanced with fluorescent paint outlining, the three Pokéballs at the bottom represent additional Pokémon arriving to support the trainers in this climactic rescue mission, completing the circular narrative.
